The goal of the Paralegal Program at Stautzenberger Institute is to provide our students with quality paralegal education and career services assistance in a personalized environment emphasizing ethics and respect for the judicial system.
The curriculum is designed to provide students with a hands-on approach to gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the functions of a paralegal while understanding the professional and ethical responsibilities of the position. Courses in legal terminology, legal research and writing, civil litigation, family law, criminal law, real estate law, and other areas of law allow students to tailor their educational experience to accommodate their interests as well as give them a general background in the areas in which they are most likely to be working.
This program leads to a position as a paralegal or legal assistant and the duties may include researching and analyzing a variety of legal sources, investigation of the facts of a case, drafting reports, documents and correspondence, record-keeping, and assisting lawyers during trials.
The normal time to complete this program for a full-time student is 15 months.
